
Community Service Awards
The Cherokee Youth Foundation is proud to host the Impact the Community awards banquet at the end of each year. Players have the opportunity to celebrate with themany teams and players in the Georgia Impact family, cheering and rooting for one another as they are recognized for their hard work and dedication throughout the year. The Foundation also recognizes community leaders who live out our shared commitment to compassion, volunteerism, and generosity. The night is truly an inspiration to youth and adults alike.
Community Service Awards:

Leadership Development Award
Griff Tatum
Teacher liaison at Hasty Elementary School, Griff Tatum, was recognized for his efforts to strengthen students' leadership skills and deepen their understanding of key values such as Respect, Empathy, Tolerance, Caring, Citizenship, Compassion, Responsibility, Leadership, Perseverance, Friendship, and Teamwork. Leading the Student Ambassador Leadership Team (SALT) and EarlyAct clubs in service projects and events for their peers, students gain confidence and learn the value of service and responsiblity
Academics Award
Dr. Sandi Harrison
Elementary school prinicpal and Rotarian, Dr. Sandi Harrison, is passionate about the success of every student, and it shows! She was honored for her compassionate leadership as she sets high expectations for everyone and inspires those around her to help each child reach their full potential. A student described Dr. Harrison this way, "She is very sweet and always listens to everyone. She makes sure everyone is heard. She is easy to talk to." We couldn't have said it any better.


Youth Development Award
Coach Barry Dalton
Physical Education Coach Barry Dalton, received this award for his dedication and volunteerism to grow the sport of soccer in the Canton community. Coach Dalton supports and uplifts students participating in the Hasty Elementary School Soccer Club, using soccer as a tool to teach, connect, and inspire far beyond the field. The Hasty Elementary School Soccer Club is now recognized as a beacon of opportunity, giving students added resources, encouragement, and confidence due to Coach Dalton's generosity.
Youth Volunteer Award
High school sophmore, Edi Monterroso Escobar, was recognized for his embodiment of the spirit of service above self. Edi is dependable and deeply committed to serving others. The Assistant Principal at Cherokee High School shared great pride and genuine admiration for his humility, compassion, and willingness- no matter the day, no matter the need, no matter how big or how small, Edi shows up with heart every single time.

Special Needs Award
Paige Reid
Having worked in the disabilities community for over fifteen years, Paige Reid was honored for her passion for informing the community about individuals living with disabilities. Paige is the Executive Director of Limitless Disability Service which celebrates each individual's journey, impact, and spirit. She reminds us that every single person deserves to shine in the spotlight not based solely on their accomplishments, but simply because of who they are.
Shane Moore Award
Jason Bishop
This award is bestowed to individuals who exemplify selflessness, dedication, and compassion and is given in recognition of the legacy Shane Moore established in the community of these very same characteristics. The recipient of this very special award is Jason Bishop, owner of King Green. You will find Coach Bishop wherever there's a need- on the field, behind the scenes, volunteering at events, sharing a smile, and generously giving when asked. Jason has been a coach, mentor, leader, supporter, and friend to countless players and coaches alike at Georgia Impact and Cherokee Youth Foundation. For 23 years, Coach Bishop has touched the lives of so many and his impact runs deep.
